Athlete warning: Higenamine in supplements

In November 2016, ASADA published an athlete warning on the banned substance Higenamine, following a spike in the number of detections. Since then, six more Australian athletes have tested positive for Higenamine, bringing the total number of positives for that substance to 13 across nine different sports. So if you take supplements, your sporting career could be at risk too.

Play by the Rules - Let Kids Be Kids campaign

Poor adult behaviour on the sidelines of kids sport – many of us see it and we’ve had enough. Our Let Kids Be Kids campaign kicked off in February and has reached right across Australia, sending the message that kids sport is for kids and that it’s firmly about fun, friendship and enjoyment. Join us on Let Kids Be Kids – help spread the word. We released a new video today. There are now 12 great Let Kids Be Kids videos to share.

NSW Container Deposit Scheme will provide great opportunities for sporting groups

The NSW Container Deposit Scheme (CDS) will be an environmental game-changer for NSW. It is the single largest litter-reduction initiative to be introduced in NSW and will support our sporting groups and charities with fundraising opportunities. The scheme will deliver on a commitment to deliver a cost-efficient world best practice model.

EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST NSW STATE TEAMS - NATIONALS 2017

ILHNSW has been advised by ILHA that they are considering a proposal to hold this year’s Nationals in Moe, Victoria from; Senior divisions – Saturday 23 September 17 to Wednesday 27 September 17 (Senior Men, Senior Women, 21’s, Masters, Veterans, Super Vets) and; Junior divisions – Wednesday 27 September 17 to Saturday 30 September 17 (9’s, 11’s, 13’s, 15’s, 17’s and Junior Women). ILHNSW would like to field a state team in as many divisions as possible.

Young Skaters wanted for NEW TV show!

WARNER BROS SEEKS PASSIONATE, TALENTED ARTIST FOR NEW TV SHOW ‘AMAZING KIDS’ We are on the hunt for budding young skaters under the age of 11 to be a part of Australia’s brand new TV show, ‘Amazing Kids’. The show is part chat show, part talent, so the children will not only have to showcase their talent, but also be confident enough to hold their own with our adult host. Ideally our chosen kids will have big personalities, a genuine passion for skating and an impressive skill set.

Rollerbladers needed for TV commercial!

McGregor Casting are currently on the hunt for some rollerbladers to be a part of an upcoming TV commercial that they are casting. Each person in the TVC will be paid $2,000 for their time! Application details here.

SkateNSW Artistic Members in the 2016 Australian Oceania Team

Five SkateNSW Artistic Skaters and one Coach joined the rest of the 2016 Australian Artistic Team for the 2016 Oceania Championships in Wanganui, New Zealand. SkateNSW wishes all the competitors the best of luck, and results will be posted as available. UPDATE!
