Sport and Recreation Sector Update - Thursday 5 August 2021

To protect the people of NSW from the evolving COVID-19 outbreak, new restrictions will be introduced for Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Port Stephens, Singleton, Dungog, Muswellbrook and Cessnock from 5pm today until 12.01am Friday 13 August. The rules in place for these areas are the same that are already in place across Greater Sydney, including the Central Coast. Further information will be published to NSW Government and Office of Sport COVID-19 websites later today.

Petition - Nowra Velo Club - Multi Sport Cycling Facility, Berry Sport and Rec

Please support former NSW Speed Skater, Richard Vitiello with a petition for the Nowra Velo Club, who are seeking funding to enable a prefabricated modular wheelchair compatible amenities building as part of the evolving Multi-sport Criterium Track Facility at the Berry Sport and Recreation Centre. SkateNSW has formally provided an expression on interest in the project, as the facility could be greatly utilised for Speed Skating training and competition, from local to international level.

Sport and Recreation Sector Update - Wednesday 28 July 2021

Given low vaccination rates, the current stay at home orders will remain in place for another four weeks (until Saturday, 28 August at 12.01am) across Greater Sydney including the Central Coast, Blue Mountains, Wollongong and Shellharbour. This extra time will allow NSW residents to significantly increase the uptake of vaccines in areas most affected by the current outbreak and across the state. Overnight, the stay at home restrictions for Orange, Cabonne and Blayney were lifted.

To protect the people of NSW from the evolving COVID-19 outbreak, new restrictions will be introduced for the Orange City Council, Blayney Shire Council, and Cabonne Shire Council areas from 12.01am Wednesday July 21 until 12.01am Wednesday July 28. Stay-at-home orders will apply to all people who live in the Orange City Council, Blayney Shire Council, and Cabonne Shire Council areas, or have been there on or after Saturday July 17.

COVID-19 Financial support and surveillance testing requirements for workers

The NSW Government and Commonwealth Government has announced a combined financial package to support households and businesses in New South Wales during the current COVID-19 lockdown. Under a new combined support package, the COVID-19 Disaster Payment will be further expanded and increased. The Commonwealth and NSW will also enter into a new 50/50 cost sharing arrangement for a new business support payment to be implemented and administered by NSW. EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST for NSW STATE TEAMS NATIONALS 2021
