The next event on the NSW Speed Calendar is round 3 of the 2017 SkateNSW GP series which will be held at the International Peace Park Netball Courts, Blacktown on Sunday April 2nd. Warm-up is at 8:30 for an 9:00am race start. All skaters wishing to participate need to be members of SkateNSW, Online membership is available here. The 9 member NSW state team has just returned from the 2017 National championships. All members of the team won medals.

NSW Speed Skate Andrew Jovicevic competed at the 2016 Korea Namwon Open that was held between April 21 and 27, Daniel Thomson was the team coach.

 

NSW Skaters Jaide Gayle-Weiling, Stephen Mynott, Andrew Jovicevic and Peter Edge will be competing at the 2016 Oceania Speed championships held in Timaru NewZealand between 25/3 and 29/3. Daniel Thomson is the coach for the event.

Congratulations to Andrew Jovicevic who will be representing Australia at the Korean Open, held in Namwon, South Korea in April. Daniel Thomson is the national team coach for the event.

 

Daniel Thomson was awarded coach of the year at the 2014 Blacktown City Council sports awards.

Congratulations to the NSW State team who have just returned from the national championships. NSW skaters won a total of 8 Gold medals which included the masters relay on the road.

The NSW State team brought home a number of gold medals from 2014 National Championships in Brisbane.

 

The 2014 National Championships are being held in Brisbane between January 19 and 26. The NSW State team consists of Andrew Daley, Peter Edge, Daniel Thomson, Richard Vitiello and Jourdain Vitiello.

B Brade: 1st Ian Soellaart, 2nd Stephen Mynott, 3rd Richard Kraay

Open Quads: No skaters competed in the 2013 series.

NSW Skaters Kris Williams, Richard Vitiello and Jourdain Vitiello will be competing at the 2013 Oceania Championships in Brisbane between 29 March and 4 April. Daniel Thomson is the team Coach.

 

The National Championships, are being held in Perth between January 13 and 20. The NSW State team consists of Peter Edge, Ray Parry, Daniel Thomson, Andrew Tiffany, Kris Williams, Richard Vitiello and Jourdain Vitiello.

There was some close racing on the day with the standout being Kris Williams winning the 1km A Grade event with a well timed breakaway in his first event as an A Grader.

Peter Edge has returned from representing Australia at the 2012 Oceania Championships, held in Timaru NZ. Peter picked up 6 silver medals in the Masters B men division.

 

Congratulations to the NSW state team who competed at the 2012 National championships, all team members brought home at least one medal. Peter Edge was selected for the 2012 Australian team to compete in Oceania Championships being held in NewZealand in April , Daniel Thomson is the team coach.

The results from the 2011 SkateNSW State Championships and the 2011 SkateNSW Quad Cup are available for download from the results page. Congratulations to all skaters who competed, particularly those who finished the longer events which were run in particularly hot conditions.

 

The results from the 2011 Blacktown City Games and round 7 of the NSW GP series events held on 9/10/2011 are available for download from the results page. With only one round remaining in the 2011 series, first places in the Open Quads, B and Beginners grades have already been decided as have first and second places in the Open events. Five skaters are still in the race to win A grade with just 21 points between the current leader and fifth placed athlete.
